Virgin pod getting very hot

  • Hello, I received my virgin media pod yesterday and plugged it in as instructed. By night time it was extremely hot and it made me very wary of the possibility of it catching fire so I switched it off. Is this normal that they get that hot? Thanks

Re: Virgin pod getting very hot

I believe that they can get 'warm' - Hot is a problem!

Re: Virgin pod getting very hot

so warm is normal and nothing to worry about? I guess it’s then deciding when warm becomes too warm that it’s hot 🤷‍♀️
I have tried switching it on again this morning and monitoring how hot it gets throughout the day. Don’t really know what else to do.

Hi Willbuff02

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.

Is the pod hot or just warm?

Kind regards,

Re: Virgin pod getting very hot

Spoiler
Hello,

the pod seems to be more warm on the front now. I am keeping an eye on it as yesterday I was sure it was hot one moment then warm the next. I wondered if it was hotter for the first 24 hours whilst it was settling in and now just warm - very hard to tell.

I will continue to monitor it though,

thanks for replies

Re: Virgin pod getting very hot

Thanks for keeping us updated Willbuff02 - I understand the Pods are extra busy for the first 24hrs as they are assessing/optimising the WiFi environment so possibly that's why they were warmer than usual.

If you remain concerned with the heat coming from them though please let us know.
