Hi,

I have raised the relocation request to the new property for my VM fibre and TV

VM is taking time as there is sim line work that has to be completed on the area before they install at my property

as my property is getting renovated wanted to get the socket installed which supports this. I wanted to match the socket with my other sockets at home

will this socket work for VM Fibre connection

I don't believe you can use your own sockets.

No. That is a male and female Freeview TV aerial socket.

VM cables require an F-Type socket.

Perhaps sockets like this ...

of for VM and Freeview TV at one point like this...

You can use whatever box and socket you like. Only rule is you can't tamper with the cable or joint.

For outside I removed the brown box and fitted a square white box. As for inside I fitted a spacer and followed by single slot plate to allow the VM connector to clip on. The engineer will carry these connectors. You can face these connectors up or down. If floor mount better to face down. Mine is faced up as the Hub 3 is hiding inside the TV cabinet set to Modem mode.

I don't have an outside box at all. When the outside cable had been done and left with loose cable outside, I drilled the hole myself and fed the cable through. VM guy was happy with that and did a nice neat job inside.

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

Hello tejeshn.

Thanks for your post.

Sorry to here you are having to wait a bit longer to get the services installed.

With our services we do need to install our own sockets.

But I also guess that from the external wall to to the internal wall, the coax will not be affected if you did wish to add an aftermarket face plate.

Have you been advised on a date yet for the external works to be completed?
