Hi we have moved from our home that had virgin media installed but our new home does not but Virgin media is installed down our road just 4 houses along (about 500 yards away) when you try and contact Virgin direct no one can seem to help & we have filled in the form to be contacted back but no one ever phones, is there a way that I can get it installed in our home? thank you.

There are a lot of considerations with regards VM expanding their network.

1) Private roads. If the road is unadopted it would involve complex wayleave agreements, which would increase costs.

2) Roads with no pavement, or block paving also pushes up the expense.

Add to that the majority of VM build is HFC (Hybrid Fibre Coaxial). The capacity of the build from most of these goes back to the 1990s when VMs predecessors did not allow for in any slack for further expansion. If your house is over 200 yards away it would require not only a ducting extension, but an additional amplified distribution cabinet. It is unlikely that even if all 4 houses were to sign up & capacity was available, VMs budget to install would be exceeded several times over.

VM BB TV Landline. Vonage 2nd line. Freeview/Freesat HD, ASDA/Tesco PAYG Mobile. Customer since 1993
