Virgin media rollout??

Hi. I am trying to find out if virgin media will ever come to my area.

I live in Cannock Staffordshire and every surrounding town has virgin media, Stafford, Walsall, Lichfield all have virgin but Cannock is the only one that does not.

I have visited numerous websites to attempt to find out about planned expansion but none of them actually give any information.

Does anyone have this information, will our forgotten town ever get a decent internet service. Current services are nothing short of abysmal, I have used most providers through the BT phone line and they are awful for my sons who like online gaming.

Can anyone help with this?

Re: Virgin media rollout??

Good evening, for Virgin to look into connecting an area there needs to be a high demand for that area, using the postcode checker which when it finds the address is not serviceable it will get you to fill in the form.
The more people in an area that fill in these forms the better the chances of potential future expansion.

Re: Virgin media rollout??

Good to know but it would be nice to know if there was ever a chance of it being available in my area. Surely VM do some sort of research and don't just rely on a form being filled in on their site. I am pretty sure, based on my experience of how poor internet services are in my area that there would be a large number of residents who would welcome faster speeds and a reliable service.

Not many of them will complete your form because they already know VM isn't available in the area so don't bother searching for it. I personally know dozens of people that are extremely dissatisfied with the current setup in the area. I know much of the country is the same but it doesn't make sense to me that all the surrounding towns were cabled but for some strange reason they skipped past our town.

Hopefully VM will do some research in the area soon and consider it viable.

Thanks for the reply.

Re: Virgin media rollout??

There are several villages near me that have been cabled purely because of the amount of interest, we do research areas but sometimes complications are other works can delay plans.

We are always expending but as we are own own supplier funds have to be made available for each project.
We do connect nearby areas to existing areas, which hopefully we do do that for you soon but I would also recommend filling in the form and getting others to do so too.

many thanks
