Virgin Media vans just down the road digging up the path (are they coming?)

Hi Everyone,

This morning I noticed three vans digging up the path, with a sign saying "Virgin Media are coming to your area".  They are literally just around the corner, but I have an awful feeling they don't mean they are coming to MY house.

Would someone kindly check LN6 8JP please?

We're stuck with BT and the speeds are so slow!!

Thanks very much!!

unless you see them physically digging in front of your house then assume that it won't be coming to you.

It looks like all that postcode is a planned build. If you would like to confirm the street name i can tell you for sure

All houses on nero way are in the plans. I do see some flats in a block and i cant say if they will be included though.
I would think from spades hitting the ground to activation you are looking at 6-12 months depending on the size of the area.

Hope this helps

Jon

Thanks very much for checking.  Fortunately our house is right at the very start.  What do I do, just sit tight for a flyer to pop through the letterbox?  I've registered my interest on the website.

Don't suppose you know what speeds?  I see on the website 1gb is rolling out, but I'd be happy with anything over 60mb lol

Re: Virgin Media vans just down the road digging up the path (are they coming?)

100mb will definitely be available, and typically upto 350mb.

If you get fibre to your estate, then you can look at upto 1 gb (2gb in the future), a lot of smaller estates only get coax to the cabinet and therefore appear limited to 350mb until they get a docsis 3.1 upgrade.

I would say the minimum would be 500, possibly 1gb by completion
