Virgin Media respects my decision to cancel.

I cancelled two days ago looking to do the retentions dance and I’ve just received a call from Virgin Media. The caller confirmed my details then said they weren’t going to make any changes to my account and they respect my decision to cancel. That was all that was said, I didn’t even have a chance to speak. It was all very strange. I’m off to pastures new I guess.

That's the chance you take when you use the threat to leave.  You have to be prepared to walk away to another ISP.

On the upside, after 3 or 4 months, you are back to being a "new" customer I believe.
