I got a quick start kit in the post today. However the virgin media wall socket did not have any wires on the bottom of it like it is supposed to. So I unscrewed it and there is a wire coming through the wall behind the socket, but it has a male fitting so the cord in my kit with also a male fitting does not fit, so I can not get any internet.

The short black stub of cable in photo #2 is your VM connection.

You need a coupler adapter to join two plugs together

Also available from the likes of Screwfix, Homebase, Toolstation etc.

If you still have no luck after that, call the pre-installation and delivery team on 0800 052 1734 explain the problem and request a tech visit to install a socket.
