After upgrading to Hub4 (for 1gig service) I have had a few instances of the hub 4 forgetting/resetting my settings.
Today was perfect example..
At about 10:25 the whole internet went down.. checking router confirmed it was offline
about 3 mins later it came back... and I assumed all was Ok.
But then my wireless connected printer said it was not connected... strange.. as my phone said it was connected to wireless just fine..
So some digging... showed that JUST the 2.4Ghz Wireless had been reset back to default.,.. and the 5Ghz service still had my local config in place (before outage.. they were both set up with same SSID and Pass).
So wth is going on here? Anyone any ideas?

Its a known fault, my hub had it - VM would not replace, even cancelled engineer visit for it.
Total hassle having to log in every time to rename your SSID (2.4ghz) every power cycle and powercut scrubs it too.
Not ideal, id keep pressing for a replacement

I guess if you leave the defaults in place that's a solution but If you're able to change it you should be able to.

Have you turned off smart/intelligent WiFi?

No, Smart WiFi is enabled

Turn it off, has been known to cause similar problems to yours.

Hey Yoji, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to see you are having some connection issues with your Hub4.
I would keep both channels named the same and it should connect to frequency automatically.
Sometimes when there has been an outage it has been known that it could mess around with the settings.
I would turn smart/intelligent WiFi off for the time being has this can help.
Please keep me updated with how you get on. Thanks

If you have VM pods you must have smart/intelligent WiFi enabled and both bands on the same SSID. If you do not have pods it's always best to split the bands into two different SSIDs and turn off smart/intelligent WiFi. Smart Wifi just tries to optimise which channel is used and can cause an interruption while it does it. With only 3 channels 1,6 & 11 available on the 2.4 band it becomes irrelevant as other peoples systems are also searching for the best channel and 90% of the time it makes no difference.

I have given up.. its shockingly bad.. any disruptions (power cut, or virgin disruption) seems to reset my settings on the 2.4Ghtz channel.
I cant believe this got past even the most basic QA process, and now you know... you not even provided a fix.. thats REALLY bad.
Also had some weird problems with wireless where my printer just decides to give up (says it connected.. but just wont print... never had problem with hub3.. and a reset of printer or wireless fixes).
So as I say.. have given up.. turned off the hub 4 wireless feature altogether and now using a mesh wireless network solution.
(to be fair, not entirely due to this issue.. but I live in a big'ish 1930's vintage house.. with lots of solid/brick internal walls that the standard Hub4 just cant cut it) Could have gone range extenders. but decided go for Mesh solution.

We're sorry to hear that you have given up with our WIFI Yoji.
We fully understand your reasons why due to all the disruption caused if any power cuts or maintenance work takes place that you lose your hub settings.
If you do chose, to use your hub in router mode in the future, we will be more than happy to assist if you experience any further Wi-Fi issues.
Kind regards Jodi.
