Virgin Arris TIVO Box, locked to Virgin Media Services/ Broadband?

I have cancelled Virgin Media and received an email that if I don’t return the above; they will charge me a grand total of £0! Having been with them for many years, I thought I would keep it, as it is essentially free.

Is it locked to Virgin Media Broadband to use it? Or can I still use it as a Freeview Box with another internet provider?

Hi @clint66 

All VM boxes are de-activated once the account is closed.  They will only work via an active cable VM connection and cannot be used to view any free to air channels.
