Upgrade to 1 Gig?

On our wavelength

I have just opted for the £5 upgrade from M500 to 1 Gig.

As a new Virgin Media customer I have only had my equipment for a few weeks, in the email it says I will be sent a hub5 box to self install.

I'm now wondering if I actually need the new box as the one I have is only 3 weeks old?

There is a cost I think of £35 with this upgrade, but do I actually need the new box for this upgrade?

Have you been able to connect the Ethernet cable to a device to run a speed test?

Another way to check the signal within your home is to run a test via the Connect app. 

By running this test, you can determine if there are any areas within your home that are struggling to receive the signal.

Just done a test with all the ports on the hub 5.

Using a 1m Cat8 cable the results were all similar...
