Unsure how to plug in coax cable

Hi,

Just moved into a new flat. After spending all of yesterday looking for where the coaxial port is we've stumbled upon this box above the door.

Is this where I'm supposed to put the coax cable in? It doesn't fit over the metal bit on the left, should I unscrew that?

Unfortunatly someone has cut the virgin wire.

If you unscrew the brass fitting the connection is there but it ain't gonna look pretty if you just have a quickstart pack

Damn, should I attempt to unscrew it or just book an engineer? Really need the broadband working this week as we're both working from home.

Undo the two screws holding the plastic cover on, and then unscrew the connector that is poking out the bottom of that box. Your quick start cable will just push on (not twist).

The broken bit should just unscrew off the terminal. Just be careful with the pliers……

That's good news at least, will give it a go tonight.

To clarify is this the broken bit?

Or is it this?

Hi @Ayrton7,

Thank you for your posts and welcome to our community forums. We're here to help.

I'm so sorry to hear you're having a bit of trouble connecting up your equipment with your quickstart order. Have you been able to sort this out since your posts or do you need further assistance?

Thanks,

Still need further assistance but have an engineer booked for next week! Still hoping to sort it myself ASAP as we both work from home and are running out of data, but will likely be sorted next week.

It's the whole thing up to the top of the metal part where the spanner goes to unscrew it from the threaded connector that it's connected to.

Perfect, thankyou. And then should I be able to plug the coaxial cable in or will I need a coupler?
