Uni students - new to virgin media

Hello, 

 I am a University student and we’ve just installed virgin media in our house. We’ve got it all set up and it’s flashing green. It’s been doing this for about 2 hours now & just wanted to know when/how we could make the white light come on. The problems are saying:

1. Broadband connection is down. Please check your coaxial cable is firmly attached. (What’s a coaxial cable?)

2. The temperature of your Hub 3.0 is normal.

3. The device has low signal strength, please move it closer to Hub 3.0. (What device is it on about?)

4. Please place your wifi device closer to Hub 3.0. (I thought the hub was the router)

Can someone please answer these questions as we need the wifi!

is this a new install? did you call to activate the hub?
Is it connected to the white VM coax cable?

The coa-ax cable is the white cable that connects your Hub to the wall point and then to the external world.

Quick question - did you follow the "activation" instructions that were in the self start pack?

In any case call the activation line it mght not have activated properly onto your account.

The Coaxile is the white cable going into the Hub, check that it's secure at both the Hub and white box at the end of the room.

Normal temp is good.

The device in question is the device you're using, IE smartphone or laptop.

The WiFi device in question is the same as above, Smartphone or Laptop.
