Tv box not delivered

Hi, we were supposed to have our TV and broadband installed yesterday (9/12). However, when the engineer arrived he stated that he was unable to install Tv as he had no boxes (national shortage allegedly) so only the internet got installed.

I would’ve expected to have been told about this prior to the engineer visit or at least in a follow up email. 

Tried contacting Virgin but stuck on hold for what feels like eternity so wondered if anyone on here has experienced the same or if anyone from Virgin could advise?

Same RE the shortage. 

Was expecting delivery today for a self install that never showed. Great start ......
