The email address associated is her virginmedia one that's long defunct, they know my Gmail is associated but I can't use it to login to anything. What kind of system operates by hanging up on me when I call to resolve this so I can pay my bill and change the email address? I literally call to pay my bill and am met with a voice call explaining that they can't talk with me because I have an outstanding payment, and the line goes dead. Am I bonkers? What the **bleep** is this kind of logic?

Is the broadband account in your mother's name or yours? They will only talk to the account holder.
Have you tried to pay the bill online?
