Told To Activate In 12 Hours - No Broadband Cable!

PaulVI
Tuning in

Morning all!

VM told me the house I was moving into was ready for broadband (and I saw a VM box in the corner of the front room).

I ordered a Quick Start. I went to plug the white cable into the VM box - and found out that it was only a plastic plate on the wall with nothing in it/behind it!

I contacted VM and arranged an engineer to come out next Wednesday 2nd Nov.

Today, 27th October, I received a text message from VM (that I can't reply to) saying that THEY have activated my account (presumably at their end?) and that I have to activate my account in the NEXT 12 HOURS!?!?

What are they talking about? I can't activate my account as I have no service? What happens in 12 hours if I don't activate it? Why am I being harassed by VM? Why don't the idiots sending out the text messages know that I am having an engineer sent out next Wednesday?

Please help. In this house move I've just done the last thing I want to do is spend MORE TIME on the phone with VM (and "yes" - I've forgotten my sign-up password).

Thanks in advance.

Paul

The process just isnt very "joined up".

The Tech should sort it all when they do the install.

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

Thank you 👍

Yes. I'll see what happens next.

I've just come out of a nightmare time with Talktalk... I just don't want this to happen once more.

Thanks again.
