Thinking of moving to Virgin - broadband lead times

Hi

looking to call Sky tomorrow as on crazy expensive package that has just kept going up; will stick with Sky for TV only, drop phone and switch broadband for Virgin.

What's the current lead time for installs - presume they are still going ahead in lockdown?

Thanks Matt

Re: Thinking of moving to Virgin - broadband lead times

Hi there,

Lead times depend on the area you live and the property you live in. I can take a look for you. I will send you a private message for the address and let you know.

thanks

Jon

Re: Thinking of moving to Virgin - broadband lead times

It would be good advice to overlap your existing service when installing Virgin Media.

Normally there are no issues, but if blocked ducts & service tees are found when the pre-install cable pull occurs you are looking at several weeks potential delays for work permits to complete the required remedial works.

Hi @ellispickering

You can't direct PM forum staff unfortunately.

I will send you a message to answer your query though.

Thanks

Christy

Re: Thinking of moving to Virgin - broadband lead times

You will almost certainly get a better broadband/TV deal from VM than TV from Sky and broadband from VM. Furthermore, adding landline to VM's deal will, for the period of the initial contract, probably cost little or nothing. Note that if you decide to have VM's landline and keep your number it's essential that you do not terminate Sky's landline as the number port will not then work.

Re: Thinking of moving to Virgin - broadband lead times

all sorted thanks - know could have got better deal moving totally but quite happy with Sky Q, don't use a phone (not had one plugged in for around 12 years)

Still in better position and knocked £40 off total bill.
