Text messages from Virgin ligit?

Hi,

I'm moving house and was told a couple of weeks ago by the lady I spoke to at Virgin that I'd receive some new cables etc.

I've received a couple of text messages and I've no idea if they're genuinely from Virgin or if someone is just being very clever and trying to catch me out.

It is asking me to reply 'go' once I have received the kit to activate it.

Is this genuine Virgin text?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Text messages from Virgin ligit?

Virgin media are known to send out text messages. For some reason they always seem to come from random phone numbers. I don't know why, not that a proper name would make them any more authentic. Maybe it's so you can reply to them.

So I'd reply, but keep an eye out - any that ask for any personally identifiable information should be ignored - as they exist as well and are quite likely fraudulent.

cannot say 100% but i would say yes - you certainly need to activate the 'kit' so someone is either being very clever/subtle or it is VM

You don't need to do anything until you receive the equipment at the new address.  Then follow the instructions to activate it that will be included with it.
