Switched Hub3

I’ve had virgin broadband for 6 years now and my Hub3 gave up the ghost this morning.
I can’t get an engineer till the end of the week so I got a spare hub from my friend connected it all up  but now I can only connect to the hub it doesn’t have internet access.

Does the new box need paired to my account?

really need to get it up and working ASAP as the hub runs all my security cameras

Re: Switched Hub3

Only one Hub at a time is activated on your account. Any you get loaned or from eBay etc., will not work. You will have to call it in as a fault and get your Hub3 replaced.

Re: Switched Hub3

Could I not phone them and register the new hub with Virgin?

It's rented kit. If it's not returned you are charged for it.

You can't just use any kit from any residence.

Re: Switched Hub3

They can have the broken one no issues I just needed internet ASAP as my work works from home and she relies on the internet.
I thought a simple change of hub would have helped at least to get me up abs running.

I take it I’m just going to have to suck it up and wait for an engineer?

Have you tried the power supply from the 'borrowed' HUB on yours?

Re: Switched Hub3

Yes and I’ve tried my power into the loaned hub.

no matter what I do my original one doesn’t have any lights on and just has a very faint buzz coming from it

Contact VM and ask for a replacement then, no engineer required.
