Hi, I used to have Virgin Media Broadband couple of years ago but have now rejoined and I have 1 of those self installs but struggling with the wall socket. I have this exposed cable from last time where the broadband was located.Do I need to book and engineer?

Maybe not. Please share a few photos of what you have.

for some reason it’s not allowing me to upload a picture, but it’s a cable that looks like the one that goes into the hub and is supposed to go into the wall socket like ones from the original self installs

Difficult to be sure without seeing. Sounds like a normal coax cable. Does it fit the hub? If not are you able to remove it? There are also cheap adapters you can get eg

Have you traced the cable to the outside and see if it's connected to the VM Omnibox on the wall?

Hey @Ryan_,

Welcome back to the community and thanks for taking the time to post.

I have looked into this and can see that you have arranged for a manned install to take place, how did that go and have they managed to get everything installed for you?

Regards,
