Can I have the router placed in any part of the house?

Thanks

Re: Router

As long as there is an obvious cable route and 240volts then yes

Re: Router

So if I want the cable to come into the conservatory around the back, then they would have to route the wiring around the side of the house and then into the conservatory

I assume this would not be an issue

Thanks Again

Matt

Re: Router

As long as it's easy enough to do, then yes. They'll put the termination box on the front of your house, and then run cable down the side of your house to your conservatory.

Re: Router

They clipped my cable along the side wall to the back of the house without any problem.

Re: Router

Worth thinking about whether the conservatory is the best place to site a VM Hub.

Particularly if you are going to rely on it for wifi coverage in your whole house - VM Hub wifi is generously regarded as "poor". Also all ethernet connections will have to originate from there too.

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired 2 WiFi,) SH2 in modem mode with Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's. On VIVID200, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

Re: Router

Hi There,

Thanks for the advice, but my office is based in the conservatory, which is more important than the rest of the house - so to speak!

But good advice - cheers

Re: Router

If the wifi is poor elsewhere, there are a number of things you can do/use to improve it. Come back in here and ask if that turns out to be the case.
