Removing virgin media box

I have just moved into a new house and I am not with Virgin but it has a box on the wall inside and outside and need to decorate.

Can I remove this myself and is it safe to cut the cable?

Certainly safe to do so, and VM have no legal right to leave their equipment on your land unless you're in a contract with them.  If you do remove it, then potentially VM will mark the property as unserviceable meaning that if you wanted a VM connection at some future date they could refuse, although as far as I can see this is highly unusual.

The forum staff here can ask the area manager to assign a technician to remove it, but (a) they'll only do what you'd do, and (b) much of the time the company won't remove it unless there's a health and safety concern, and in that case they tell customers to do what they want.

Hey Ricktheartist45, thank you for reaching out and a warm welcome to the community.

What is mentioned above is true however I can try and request a removal of this if you'd like?

You can also do this yourself if you wish.

Please let me know either way. Thanks
