Removal of services (trip hazard cable)

Hi all,

I hope you are well.

I have recently purchase a property and the previous owners have had VM services installed throughout the properly. However the cable that comes in from the boundary to the house has surfaced. As someone who has elderly and frail family members visit on a weekly basis, I need the cable removed so it isn't a trip hazard on the pathway to our front door. I'm not always around when they visit to check the cable is in a safe place and a fall to one of my family members could do serious damage and cause long lasting issues.

I'd be happy to just have the front cable removed where it crosses the boundry and leads to the front door, however it would be ideal if all the external cables were removed. I'd also consider doing this myself, however it's only right VM take responsibility for their own services and act upon the request.

I'm aware this may cause issues with services being reinstated in the future and this isn't a problem for me.

Lastly, I do have pictures to share however I'm not sure they are uploading.

Kind regards,

Andy W.

Just hit the Reply Option (not quick reply) and click the Camera icon and then select the pictures you want to upload - should just work.

I take it you are not a VM customer at the moment?

A VM staff member should contact you on here in a day or so and arrange it for you. Give them a reasonable time to do it before you remove them yourself in case that might affect your neighbours' connection's

Posting those pictures will help others (including VM staff) advise. It's unlikely VM staff will arrange any cable removals without seeing the photographs of a demonstrable H&S issue.

Use the photo icon above the message compose window, and then wait for the images to be manually approved before they're publicly visible.

Had some trouble reducing the imagine file size, so it wouldn't upload.

I hope this is suitable. Obviously if someone caught their foot on it it would sent them flying.

Would be great if its removed by the company that put it there, failing that I'll be forced to remove it myself.

Thanks
