I’ve moved to a property with an enormous white Virgin Media box stuck to it, it shouldn’t be there (it’s a listed property) the cables are in the way and we don’t use Virgin. Can anyone tell me how this can be removed? Can I just cut the cables and remove myself or are they live?
Will Virgin come & remove this?

Wouldn't really describe a typical VM omnibox outside as being 'enormous'. Perhaps a bit bigger than a paperback book.
Post up some photos of what you are referring to and what you want removing. Someone might then move your topic to a different forum where VM forum staff reply and refer the pic's on (they don't often reply here in 'Community Natter')
Topics like this get mixed answers from VM.

Virgin boxes are brown, so it is possible the previous occupant has painted it white. If the box is large it will likely be a fibre termination box, which houses fibre to coax conversion kit.

Thanks for your reply. The box is much larger than that and not a brown one which has been painted.

As I thought, that is a fibre termination box. You will have an uphill battle as you are not a VM customer. They are usually unwilling to move anything that isn’t a safety hazard. As far as they are concerned it is the customers responsibility to get any permissions required before an install takes place.

Regular forum members such as myself won't see your pic until approved by the moderators but, on the off-chance that listed building consent wasn't checked/obtained to install the box (which might be quite likely), VM might like to consider removing it on the basis that both the person commissioning the work and those carrying out the work are both liable for an unlimited fine/prosecution from the online info I can see about unauthorised listed building work.
To get some attention from the VM forum team, one of the forum moderators or VIPs will need to flag your topic or move it to a forum where the VM forum team do reply.

Can the cables just be cut and it removed?

I would not recommend that approach myself. Your topic has now been moved to the 'Quick Start' forum where a VM forum team member should reply within a few days.

Hi LS21,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums. It's great having you on board with us in the Community.
I'm sorry to hear you're unhappy with the box being on the house. Before we install, we do obtain the required permissions. If at any point things start to look untidy or unsafe then we can step in and arrange to get things resolved but we wouldn't usually remove cabling where there is no issue.
I am happy to forward this over to the Area Manager to see if this is something we would remove for you but will need some details to go with it. I have sent you a private message regarding this. Just click on the little plum envelope at the top right-hand side of the page to access your inbox.
Thanks,
