Removal of outside Virgin Media box and cabling

Hi Virgin Media,

I spoke to a Virgin Media engineer who was working in our street yesterday who advised that I need to contact you to remove an old Virgin Media box and cabling that is running across my front drive (the previous occupants were VM customers). It is a serious trip hazard and I've been advised that Virgin Media need to remove it before someone has a serious accident. Please can you contact me directly to arrange this.

Thanks

A VM person will respond in a day or so when they get here.

You can just remove everything yourself and skip it. But best to give VM the chance to do it properly first as if you just pull it all out it could make you unpopular with your neighbours if that affects their connectivity 🙂

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

The VM engineer who was working at a neighbour's house advised me not to remove the wiring myself in case it gave me an electric shock! Hope VM will respond soon before there is an accident due to their equipment. Thanks

You will not get any electrical shock from that cabling and omnibox - was he/she wearing rubber gloves? 😎

Post up photos of the tripping hazard as it might expedite the process as its a H&S issue.

Appreciate your input however, I'm going to follow the VM engineer's advise to ask VM to remove the wiring etc as I'm not qualified to do this. Thanks

FAO Virgin Media - I've been waiting on your online chat for over 2 hours and still no one has been able to assist.

I've also tried calling your Customer Services number (0345 454 1111) but no one is answering.

This is unreasonable and poor customer service.

… then wait here, as advised above, for the Virgin Media staff on here to respond and arrange.

I do not advise the removal of the cable, best to see if VM can reroute it to avoid anyone tripping over it.

I'm still waiting after four weeks for Virgin Media to confirm a date to remove their wiring from my front drive as it is a serious hazard...
