Red banded cable doesn't fit into the wall socket

I've just received my Virgin Hub 3, and the red banded socket doesn't fit into the wall socket. It is too loose/too big. What am I doing wrong? This is what the wall socket looks like. Thank you.

thats a very old socket by the looks of it - thats if it is from VM or one of the early providers - you could open it up and post another photo of whats inside - that may help but i would suggest the best course of action is give them a ring and book a tech - its free

Thanks, yes the engineers fixed it. The setup was ancient technology but they put in a new box and and all good now.
