Previous contract owner moving out - 14 day delay without internet access

Hi, 

I'm part of a shared household that's currently looking to sign up for a Virgin Media bundle for the next year. The house has been using Virgin Media for the last year, however we need to start a contract under a new name/account, as the previous payer is moving out.

One issue we've noticed, however, is that there's a 14 day period after the previous contract is cancelled before the new quickstart package can be delivered. This is a big problem, as some of the people moving into the house will need internet access for work in this time, especially with the ongoing lockdown.

Is there a work-around or alternative that would allow us to have the internet set up faster, or at least have access in this period?

Having the exact same issue - was there a successful solve? Direly need internet as I work from home and waiting two weeks would be murder.

Similar situation with me.

Is there a way to speed up the 14 day period for my new contract to commence?

I have an existing virgin line installed and a router - although this has to be returned as part of the old contract before a new one arrives!

Customer Service put a new order through and it is now being delivered later than originally planned 🤦🏻‍♀️ Haven’t had an update since.

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community. 

 

Really sorry about this. When you set up a new account we'd need new equipment linked to the new account, the old equipment would no longer work. 

Have you been in touch with the team since? How're things moving along?

No updates or responses to calls/emails, delivery still set at the 28th of Sept. Still need internet ASAP for research and work.

I do apologise you've not heard back. 

If we've given you the 28th Sept this would be the next available date to connect the services. 

This will be due to the current account waiting to be disconnected, we can't have more than one active account so we're unable to start things until the disconnection goes through. 

I can only apologise if this causes any trouble in the meantime.
