I've been with Virgin since November.
Every few days, on average, the connection drops. It's out for a few minutes, sometimes up to 10.
I've tried calling Virgin - so far that's been as helpful as a chocolate teapot.
What I have worked out is the power levels on the channels are dropping when I lose the connection. They are normally around 4 or 5, then this:
