So I'm considering VM for broadband as the workmen are currently digging up my road and have a number of questions.
1. Who do I complain to / seek compensation for the builders blocking my driveway access for 2 days (so far) except late in the evening.. Without notice or written permission from me - At the moment the only way I can even get to my house on foot is to unclip the barriers and walk through as they have blocked all access (unless I trespass on two of my neighbours properties and clamber over a wall). I understand the work needs doing and the builders aren't at fault here (they are being helpful/nice) but VM is out of line not providing details etc.
2. What is the minimum package I need to get a static IP - It looks to be the business 'voom 600' but I notice 'voom 400' doesn't explicitly state 'no static option' like the 'essential 100' so wonder if it is a paid-for addition
3. Is there any other option than the Hitron router (eg just a modem with ethernet out) or can the hitron be put into a bridge-only mode? or can the firmware be replaced to something like OpenWRT? I'd prefer to be using my own hardware.
Thanks in advance for any advice
Tim

Virginmedia get permission from the local Council for pavement works. You may not get personal notification but they should avoid obstructions,
You won't get any official answers to your other questions here because this is a support forum for the residential service, not the business one. We don't use the Hitron. You might just possibly get some advice from someone who has used it.

As jpeg1 says... log onto you council website and find the planning permission for this VM work - that will detail what they can and cannot do.

I was hoping i'd be able to get the other questions answered without using a phone or dealing with a bot first (what ever happened to emailing support eh) - ah well, thanks anyway guys!
