Poor installation service

Not overly impressed with the installation engineers at the moment.

They have been back about six times now poke and prod about a bit then disappear.

However yesterday the engineer pulled off a weather cover because he's supposedly putting a box on the outside of my house unclipped the temporary wiring, then disappeared!!!!!

Unfortunately, multiple failed VM visits (which achieve no progress) and shoddy/careless workmanship are often mentioned in the topics which crop up on here.

Do you currently have a working VM service and are waiting for a replacement cable installation or are a new customer awaiting your own cable installation?

Everything is up and running fine it's just the outside of the house looks an eye sore now and the cable is just loose and open to vandalism. The whole things just not very professional. It must cost them a fortune to keep sending out engineers that don't seem to be able to handover what is actually required to the relevant parties.

You could try posting some photos of the issues and problems on here and saying how you want them remedying.

The VM forum team then usually refer these on to a local VM manager to deal with them. Such issues do usually seem to get sorted eventually in such topics on here but timescales to remedy seem to vary depending on how effective the local person is at progressing things. Sometimes the response is quick. Other times it drags on. Such is the randomness of service and outcomes with VM.

Usual response times for VM forum staff on here are a day or two but may be longer now over the BH w/e.

I know it looks staged, however I promise that is exactly as the "Engineer" left it.

As far as a remedy, a box on the wall or even a weather cover, and the cable securing /routing securely would be nice.

Moderators need to approve your images before they can be seen. Rest assured though, there are plenty of other installation photo shockers which have appeared on here in different past topics, without any staging being needed!

Edit: Photos now visible. That look like a temporary lash-up 'get-you -working' type of arrangement.

Hard to see but there looks like a suspicious join in the cable in photo 3, wrapped up in insulating tape, changing the cable from dual shotgun type to single coax. If so, not that good for long term reliability left like that.

You'll need to wait for a VM forum team person to reply on here. Normally happens within a day or two but may be longer over the BH w/e.
