Once I receive my Hub when will I be able to connect?

The house I’m in currently has cable and they have given 30 days notice to cancel they said I could carryon the payments however as I will be a new customer I would get a far better deal . They have stated I can use this until it runs out which is mid July until I sort out my own connection. My question is I’m a key work who is working from home and need the internet for my job. If I sign up today it says I can get a delivery of self install Hub on the 9th July. When would I be able to connect my Hub? Once connected how long would I have to wait for a service? Does the current contract need to end? I need it to be an instant switch. Please can anyone help?
