Old box and cable removed

Hi

We have moved a huge wardrobe and found an old virgin Broadband box and cable coming in through the external wall and snakes around the room.

Can we get this removed?

We are Virgin broadband customers but our connection goes from an external box over the roof.

Thanks

Re: Old box and cable removed

Thanks, if it can’t be unscrewed, what I meant is would virgin remove it? As any other provider wouldn’t touch it if they were to replace our connection.

Thanks

No other provider uses the same infrastructure as VM.

Re: Old box and cable removed

VM (or probably more likely one of its predecessor companies) strung the cable over your roof. This is bad practice as the cable can be prematurely damaged and allow the ingress of water. I think that VM should sort this out on a no-fault basis by running the cable externally along a detached end of the house if possible or through an internal wall, but this won't be done until after the current crisis is over.
