I have just received my virgin media hub 3.0 box, but there is no wall socket for me to plug it into. Is the wall socket something that I could setup myself? Or could I please book an engineer or somebody to come round and have a look/set it up?

Not all properties have a socket, it may just be a cable. Check outside the property for a brown or grey box on the wall and trace the cable back to the inside. VM will not send a Quickstart kit unless they have had a previous installation.
