No Socket

I just moved into a new apartment, and bought a broadband from virgin media. However, I don’t have a Virgin Media socket neither a dongle on the wall for me to plug in the cable that was provided to me. Unlike previous broadbands I used to have where it was just a simple plug into the wall, I can’t seem to find anywhere I can plug this into. This is urgent, what should I do?

Thank you!

Written permission from the landlord or letting / management agent is required before starting any ground works, exterior cabling & wall drilling for a new installation. To ignore this could lead to a huge make good charge.

Ask the folks near you how their VM kit is connected.

Failing this ...  Call the Pre-installation and delivery team on 0800 052 1734. Explain what needs to be done and book an engineer visit.

Virginmedia broadband is different to the others that you have used. It doesn't use the same cable from the road, they put in their own. Unfortunately this will mean a delay. If you really need the broadband urgently you might have to think again.

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

If there is a communal distribution system for TV & Radio in the apartments, then everything will be wired to a central equipment cupboard. You will need a technician to connect Virgin’s network to the apartments media outlet panel. They usually look something like this:
