New flat - Virgin self-install suitable?

IMG_20220403_102629.jpg

Hi,

Just moved flat. Looking to get Virgin Media internet. There's a BT Openreach wall socket. I cannot see a standard Virgin Media wall socket.

Please see pictured the only wall socket aside from the BT one. This is marked as 'Tenby' and has a 3C - 2V Coaxial Cable 75 OHM cable running from it with a TV aerial attachment on the end. Attachment can be removed.

The postcode tracker recommends a self-install kit. Will this work, or we do we need an engineer out?

Huge thanks in advance!

Re: New flat - Virgin self-install suitable?

Hi there,

Good morning and thank you for reaching out to us here. The socket that you have shared it’s not one of ours and cannot be used for broadband. That looks like it is for a television aerial.

I will send you a private message with some details on how to get some more information about your flat, when it last had service and what would be the best route for you to take.

Many thanks

Jon
