My friend had been waiting for weeks and multiple failed engineer visits to get Virgin Media/BB/Tv installed.  I recommend it to them and now it's embarrassing!!

Without BB now for weeks and with 2 young kids who need to do homework etc. and she works from home.  Not even offered a free mobile wifi hub for interim.. worst part she been direct debited today before even having a service.

My friend in the same boat and still waiting...

Charges shouldn't be made until the service(s) are activated.

What's the delay being caused by (usual issue on here is in getting the cable from the street to the property)? Unfortunately this can turn into pantomime farce for some unlucky prospective customers due to VM's sub-contracting of the work.

Your friend should be entitled to compensation at £5.25 per day from when VM first advised in writing the install would take place and £26.24 for each missed appointment

https://www.virginmedia.com/help/billing-and-payments/automatic-compensation

it should also continue for a further 30 days from when VM issue a 'cease notice' when VM decide they are not going to pay the compensation any more, after which VM can offer alternatives such a mobile connection or VM decide they are not going to complete the task. OFCOM minimum requirements are here

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0026/216962/Industry-Code-of-Practice-for-Automatic-...

(note VM have some past form on here for 'freestyling' their interpretation of the scheme when it comes to paying up, unsurprisingly in a way that's to VM's advantage).

If your friend wants further advice on here, and any involvement from the VM forum team, s/he should make a forum account and post the issue on their own forum account.

(For reference, it looks as if several of your posts have been merged into one topic. You, and your friend, will probably get the best advice by keeping posts on one single topic rather than multi-posting the same issue)
