New customer broadband **HELP**

Hi I'm a new customer but there is no underground cable for the broadband connection outside my house as it's a new build. 2 men came to install it underground but there rod wudnt go in as there seemed to be something blocking it underground  and they said someone else would have to call out. Still waiting and still no broadband connected. Anyone else have this problem
