New cable to house?

I am having Broadband installed in April.

There is currently cable to the house, which I am told is a Telewest installation.

If the cable needs to be updated or replaced, I understand another team will be involved which would take a further 10/14 days.

My concern is my current provider has been given the initial April date for changeover.

Therefore will I then be without broadband from that date, whilst awaiting Virgin Media to fully install two weeks later.

Re: New cable to house?

If you have an option to extend the disconnection date from your current provider, I would strongly recommend you do this. Let's assume that your VM install goes as planned, you'll pay two suppliers for a short time while you're happy the new install is working.

The alternative is that the new install doesn't go as intended, but your disconnection does. You're now offline in "no-mans land".. hence the recommendation to keep your existing supplier until the new install is proven.
