Neighbour sharing our box connection

Hi,

I came home from a shopping trip and noticed the cover to the internet box was detached and a cable was going to the neighbours home. No one has told me of this and as far as I can see all of the people on my street do not have this arrangement. Can someone from technical help to find out if this is normal practice?

I must clarify, the internet box is located on my property.

Thanks.

Re: Neighbour sharing our box connection

Should not make any difference, after all, ALL people in a road effectively use the same box, all the cables are joined together at the street box.

and to clarify, the virgin box on the outside of your property is their property.
it will have zero affect on your connection.

it is not "normal", but it is not "out of the orinary" either.

Re: Neighbour sharing our box connection

I agree the cables/box is property of VM but the neighbour should have their own box.

Sounds like the installation team for neigbour could not locate the box so used this persons box.

Re: Neighbour sharing our box connection

no its sometimes done as a temp connection if a cable repull is needed.

Funny thing is everyone gets funny about it for no reason but if it was them that needed to use next doors box to keep services for a few weeks it would be OK
