Multiple Cable points

Hi, I’ve recently signed up to Virgin Media and I’m awaiting my start up kit. There’s multiple Connection Points around the house (Telewest) and I was wondering which one I connect it to or if I can connect it to any. I’ve bought the broadband & tv bundle.

If I can connect to any, can I connect my router and tv to different sockets (e.g. the TV box connected to the living room telewest box and the router connected to the bedroom one)

many thanks in advance ☺️

Re: Multiple Cable points

It is unlikely but possible that all the connections are live as you'll only have one connection coming in and so splitters are used to give additional connections. Each splitter will degrade the signal however so they tend not to use too many and so some connections will likely be dead. Try your hub in all the outlets to find which are live. Once done you can use whichever for whatever purpose but note that the TV box requires an Internet connection as well as coax.
