Moving router

I'm looking for some advice on moving my router to another room in my house. The room I wish to move it to already has a VM connection fitted. This was used by people who used to live with us and who had a separate Virgin contract. So there's no need for any recabling. Will this connector still be active and can I simply connect my router to it? Or will I need some authorisation/help from VM to do so?

Re: Moving router

If the connection was on a separate contract, they should have a separate connection to the cabinet. If the connection is separate to yours it may have been disconnected to service another customer, so don’t count on it working.
