Moving Wall Box - couple of questions please

I have an engineer booked to move my wall box to another room, I was wondering:

1. What method will they use? Will they run a coax cable inside my flat to the other room or install a second box?

2. If they aren't able to do it, will I still be charged £99?

Thanks in advance!

If there isn’t a route on an outside wall they will have to.

The £99 is a callout fee. You get charged this for the tech coming out, no matter what he does (or does not do).

Thanks in advance!

Re: Moving Wall Box - couple of questions please

Thanks for getting back.

The wall I want the new box installed is the same wall that the outside box is on. In your experience does this bode well for getting a second box installed?

It's at the opposite end of the flat from the current one so I'd assume it would be alright if they could sort the initial box.

Re: Moving Wall Box - couple of questions please

They can split the coax in the external box & send the cables externally to a different entry point on the wall, giving you two internal wall boxes. If you think you might want to use the old internal box again in future tell the tech that’s doing the work & they will leave both boxes connected to the drop from the cabinet.

Re: Moving Wall Box - couple of questions please

They cancelled the visit anyway and told me they won't do it during covid.
