Mix up and cut wrong cable

Hi,

I was getting the broadband installed in my property and after a mix-up, Sky TV cable was cut and the same drill-hole was used to set up Virgin broadband.

Could someone guide me what should i now do to fix this issue.. please

Re: Mix up and cut wrong cable

Normally you'd call Sky to fix a problem, it usually costs £65.

Re: Mix up and cut wrong cable

Hi @paramount197

My apologies for the inconvenience! You'd first of all need to contact Sky in order for the cable to be fixed as this isn't something we'd be able to sort on our part. Let us know how you get on communicating with Sky and we'll take this from here.

@Travis_M

As the Sky cable was cut during the Virgin media installation, would Sky be responsible to fix it

Re: Mix up and cut wrong cable

Hi @paramount197

Sky would need to fix the cable as it's their own equipment and if it needs replacing or what not, we wouldn't have that equipment at hand.

Virgin techs are not insured to work on anyone elses infrastructure, just as Sky employed techs won't work on standard TV aerials.

Re: Mix up and cut wrong cable

Hi @paramount197

I double checked this and once you've contacted Sky, let us know how you get on and we'll investigate this to see if the fee you're required to pay is something we can cover for you on the back of this, obviously providing our technician was at fault for cutting the cable.
