Mis sold contract

Phoned up to renew my contract. Put me through to retentions after about 20 attempts of CS asking me “are you sure you want to leave”

So retention gave me an offer within my budget. M500, talk weekend and an O2 sim.

Accepted over the phone and the contract came through on email. I pointed out he’s only provided M350, gentlemen said to “ignore it” as he has set up a discount so M350 will show up on the contract instead of M500.

Still on M350 so called up today to query it and I was offered an upgrade to M500 (as a goodwill gesture) for more money, even though I’ve already agreed previously.

Is this normal practice?

A very good reason to always record conversations with retentions.
