I've recently noticed that I can improve wireless broadband reception in my house by moving my router a further 1m away from my TV (as advised by Virgin). However, in order to leave the cables tidy and out of sight I need to replace a 1m coax cable with a new 2m cable. If I am provided with the correct cable I am capable of fitting it myself and do not require an engineer visit.
Well I pleased that you are not a VM tech because you fail to take into account that if you lengthen the connection side of the network - the coax side belongs to VM not you - you risk affecting the signal level to your devices, at least. Basic physics really. That means that you will need a tech to do this ensure that signal levels on the network are right after the change. No fault call-out charge will apply. £99.
