Joined virgin before Christmas, is it normal for the first engineer to be this late?

I moved house and signed up to virgin as a new customer before Christmas.

I chose Virgin because I was told I could be put on a priority install list as I was working from home and needed broadband asap.

The first engineer visit for external work was scheduled for 21st Dec and the 2nd engineer was scheduled for 11th Jan.

11th Jan is approaching but the external work was never done.  It gets rescheduled at the end of each day to the next.  Whats the chances I am actually getting internet on the 11th?  I need it desperately for working from home as 4g is useless.

I did ring Virgin last week and they could only tell me first engineer dates can change but they guarantee me 11th it would all be done... So maybe it is normal?
