Interrupted Dial Tone

Hi,

Just migrated back to virgin but the telephone service has an interrupted dial tone on it,

I'm assuming this is voicemail 
(  it was last time  https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Forum-Archive/Voicemail-Disable/m-p/3876284)
i don't need this service , can it be  disabled please

PS: wasn't warned that telephone service would be via superhub, old bt sockets now redundant 😞

Hi there,

A broken dial tone means that there is a voicemail waiting for you, you can dial 1571 to retrieve it and then the tone will return to normal.

Presumably you are referring to your own internal phone extension sockets around the house? This seems to be a bit variable whether the technician does this or not when connecting a new phone via the hub, based on some of the posts on here.

Two recent posts below describing ways to re-enable your home extension sockets if you are minded to do so

thanks for the reply but there are no waiting voicemails, i'd already checked before posting here
& in this case dialling 1571 does not return the dial tone to normal

beginning to wonder why i came back to this clown show of a firm

Yes i was aware of this thanks but the virgin service was a quick install so no technician, plus the virgin service iinstalled in the kitchen (!) from a previous owner whereas the BT master socket makes its appearance in an upstairs bedroom on the other side of the house. While I am capable of re-wiring it all my comment was to point out that the new style phone service via the Hub was not mentioned when signing up for the service!

just ended up having to speak to 150 again (!) and they have confirmed the voicemail service will be removed within 24 hours
