Installation

Just moved in and today collected my self installation kit. Step 1.2 push red end of cable into the socket, and that's where my installation ends. The socket that's here already has a single cable fitted and it's screw fitting both ends!

So do I have the wrong kit or the wrong media socket? I'm desperate to get my broadband and tv working, can anyone help.

Yes, as odd as it seems VM stopped sending screwed fittings some time ago.  The new ones are just a tight push fit.

Unscrew the existing cable from the socket and push the new cable on.  You might need a spanner if the old cable is tightly screwed on.

Or get one of these in B&Q https://www.diy.com/departments/slx-f-plug-connector-kit-set-of-3/5028422001899_BQ.prd

That worked, once I managed to unscrew the existing cable. Thank you 🙂
