Installation gets rejected without apparent reason

Hi, 

I've tried to book an installation for fibre broadband, everything goes smooth.

I get an installation date.

Close to that deadline I got an email saying the installation can't be done. 

Tried to contact the call center and they say it wasn't possible to make the installation because they need approval from the council? They couldn't provide any more details or further steps. 

My neighbour next door has virgin media fibre. I can see the box outside. 

What can I do to install fibre at my home or who should I contact to actually pass the cable from the street to my door? 

It's a rented house, but i can have approval from the landlord to drill some passing for the cable if that's necessary.

 

Any guidance would be awesome 🙂
