Hub4 conectivity issues

Hello !

I have upgraded to 1 Gb speed and received yesterday my hub4.

tried to connect it today as per instructions + activated it too.
initially, it did not want to connect to wifi, then after several reboots and hard reset, it did, but the speed is low, not loading the pages properly, fluctuating, dropping and then coming back again.
My ubiquiti amplifi is not working now trough it Nd i need this to work, as i work from home.
it did well with hub3, now if i connect hub3 back, it will not work.

tried to call vm, but they are closed, i do not know the opening hours…

i have access to router page, unfortunately i would not know what to select there.

any ideas?
looks like a faulty hub4 ?

thanks

Re: Hub4 conectivity issues

You need to go to the settings and put the hub into modem mode.

Re: Hub4 conectivity issues

Who makes the mesh you use? Most mesh master units will operate in two modes, router mode or bridge mode.

Re: Hub4 conectivity issues

The Ubiquiti Amplifi is definitely a router, you must have the hub4 in modem mode.

Re: Hub4 conectivity issues

Manual:

https://amplifi.com/docs/AmpliFi_HD_QSG.pdf

How to put a VM hub into modem mode, not published by VM probably because they don’t want you to use it and use their pods.

1) Access your hub on 192.168.0.1, sign on and put it into modem mode. On the Hub3 the bottom LED will change to magenta. Best done from a wired connection.

2) Turn off the hub and disconnect any Ethernet cables

3) Fully initialise your own router and make sure the WAN port is set to DHCP

4) Connect your router to the VM hub with an Ethernet cable, Cat5e or Cat6, any higher specification is a waste of money

5) Turn on the VM hub.

6) You should now be able to access the internet and the hub will now be on 192.168.100.1

Re: Hub4 conectivity issues

Yes, just that the hub4 does not show when it's in modem mode.
