Hub connection

Hi I have just changed over to virgin broadband from sky. Checked showed I didn't need an engineer and hub has arrived today..I then realised there isn't am actual virgin connection box. I have one outside on wall and there was a white plastic panel covering hole on inside wall in which i found a splitter on a wire coming in. I've tried connecting hub up to this, all switched on but connect app can't find me.  Do I need a virgin wall socket or should it work connecting directly to wire. There is a splitter on wire sp connected to one side of that as if I remove that i have male to male connections .

Post up some photos of the connections you do have

If you have a cable/plug trailing from the wall, you may need a coupler adapter to join two plugs together

Also available from the likes of Screwfix, Homebase, Toolstation etc.

Looks like you have connected correctly (assuming the IN wire on the splitter is coming from the wall box outside).

What are the lights on the hub showing?

Have you gone through the activation process (page 27 below)?
